Aaron Bukenya is a renowned Ugandan educationist, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist with a vast experience in social development projects, schools, and various sectors including micro-finance, profit, and non-profit organizations' management.
Aaron is highly skilled in strategic planning, leadership, investment, public speaking, partnership development, and fundraising.
He is the Executive Director and founder of BESO Foundation, St. Mark Schools, and SHULE Micro Finance. Aaron is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards such as the 2016 Cordes Fellow, 2016 Segal Foundation Grassroots award winner, African Visionary Fellow, and Hearts on Fire Visionary of the month in April 2017. He is also a 2018 iLEAP fellow.
Aaron actively serves on the boards of various organizations including Value Addition Institute, Rockies Organisation, Kayunga Community Club, Mukago Investment Club where he chairs, and St. Mark Schools where he serves as the Chairperson of the Board.
He also holds key positions such as the Chairman of the Development Committee at Bowa Vocational Secondary School owned by Buganda kingdom and a Board member of Proprietors of Private Educational Institution Association in Uganda (PPEIAU), an umbrella organization that unites private school owners in Uganda.
Aaron's educational background includes studying UCE at BPHS, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at MUK, UACE at Old Kampala S.S.S, and Project Management at Uganda Management Institute.
Throughout his career, he has held significant roles such as Chief Executive Officer at SHULE Finance, Executive Director at BESO Foundation, Chair Of The Board Of Directors at AROBU Holdings Ltd, First Ugandan Facilitator at Spark MicroGrants, and Human Resource Manager at UNACIBAL.
