Christopher Smith

Christopher Smith is an accomplished aviation tech leader with over a decade of flight test experience, engineering management expertise, and mechanical systems knowledge. He holds a license as an A&P Mechanic and has a wealth of experience flying various airframes including Robinson, Airbus, and Bell.

Currently, at Skyryse, Christopher serves as the program manager overseeing guidance, navigation, and control technology. Additionally, he takes on the role of principal experimental test pilot, collaborating closely with engineers to develop flight control systems using tools like Matlab and Simulink. He efficiently manages the flight test program, ensuring smooth transitions from simulations to in-flight production.

His educational background includes professional aeronautics studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, training at SilverState Helicopters, and coursework at Chaffey College.

Christopher Smith has held key positions in various organizations such as Chief Experimental Test Pilot and Program Manager at Skyryse, President and Founder of Complete Rotorcraft Solutions, and as a Fire Pilot for both USDA/USFS at Coastal Helicopters LLC and Sinton Helicopters. He has also served as a Charter Pilot at Specialized Helicopters, a Line Pilot at Helicopters Inc and Helinet Aviation Services, an ENG Line pilot at Angel City Air, and as an Experimental Test Pilot & Accident Investigator at Robinson Helicopter Company. Prior to that, he was the Chief Pilot at SilverState Helicopters.
