Eliza Dawson

Eliza Dawson is a PhD candidate at Stanford University, specializing in Geophysics with a focus on understanding how ice sheet basal thaw processes may impact the future evolution of the Antarctic ice sheet, potentially contributing to mass loss and sea level rise.

With academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science and Climate from the University of Washington, Eliza went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Geophysics at Stanford University. Her expertise lies in ice sheet modeling, ice penetrating radar analysis, and synthesizing data from these methods.

Eliza Dawson has gained valuable experience throughout her career, having served as a Summer Research Intern at the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service, a NOAA Hollings Intern at NOAA, a Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, and a Summer Youth Sailing Instructor at Northwest Maritime Center & Wooden Boat Foundation.
