Deirdre Newman is an experienced journalist, editor, and entrepreneur with a passion for covering startups and innovation in Southern California. She founded inter-TECH-ion, an independent media website that originally focused on Orange County startups but has since broadened its coverage to all of SoCal. Deirdre's expertise in finding innovative entrepreneurs and compelling news stories, as well as making connections within the entire SoCal innovation ecosystem, has deepened over the years. Her experience extends beyond journalism to marketing, social media promotion, advertising, and branding. Deirdre's educational background includes a B.A. in Political Science from Cornell University. She is also a philanthropist and former yoga teacher.
