Steve Jang is a prominent venture capitalist and entrepreneur based in San Francisco. With over 12 years of industry experience, Steve is the founder and managing partner of Kindred Ventures, a generalist early stage venture fund that invests in innovative and dedicated founders at the earliest stages of building a startup. Throughout his career, Steve has backed over 100 companies, including Uber, Coinbase, Postmates, and Blue Bottle Coffee.
Steve is also an Advisor to Uber, Expa, and a Co-Founder of Out There Labs, a digital wallet technology company, which developed the Bitski NFT service. In addition, Steve has served as the Co-Founder and CEO of SoundTracking, a mobile music service that was Apple's Best iPhone Music App of 2011, and was acquired by Rhapsody in 2014. Prior to these startups, Steve co-created the world's first and largest on-demand music streaming service that reached over 100 million monthly unique users before its acquisition by MySpace.
Steve has a strong educational background, including completing his MBA from the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business and his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
