Ardent specialises in a wide range of corporate finance services, including raising growth capital and partial or whole equity sales, for ecommerce and digitally focused businesses.

-        Co-project managed three clients across travel, wearable technology and ecommerce. Created concise and informative marketing materials, co-ordinated communications as well as attending investor meetings and weekly client meetings. Helped to secure successful round of investment for our travel client.

- Organised and co-hosted five successful Leadership Dinners for 20 CEOs and CFOs, each one focused on a key area of interest. These provided a great setting for sharing market research and insights under the Chatham House Rule as well as promoting the company’s brand and expanding its client and investor network.

- Improved Ardent’s CRM strategy by implementing a major overhaul of the investor database, including Salesforce integration. This streamlined meetings and improved communication and relationships with key investors.

- Head of HR and Internal Operations. Responsibilities included invoice/expense management, recruitment and onboarding, preparing internal and external presentations/reports, handling confidential information plus organising diary and travel arrangements. As part of this role I initiated an internal feedback procedure.

-        Managed the company’s marketing activities, focusing primarily on the website and social media platforms. Achieved a 450% uplift in Twitter followers, thereby helping to strengthen Ardent’s digital presence.

Investor Relations & Operations Manager and EA to CEO

Worked across the two imprints Templar Books and Big Picture Press, focusing primarily on non-fiction for middle grade, pre-school and novelty.

-          Project managed over twenty titles, including the four most popular titles at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016, which had a predicted total sales quantity of 200,000 copies.

-          Worked with high profile contributors, such as Chris Wormell, illustrator for award-winning title H is for Hawk, and Alastair Humphreys, author of Microadventures and Grand Adventures, which together have sold over 15k copies.

-          Captained one of four teams at the company's first Sports Day. I motivated the team and allocated people to their preferred sports, as well as organising training sessions and a team kit. All the team greatly enjoyed the day and we finished in second place.

-          Participated in digital marketing campaign #ColorTheMagic at Kings Cross station to promote our Harry Potter colouring book series.

Templar Publishing and Big Picture Press

Senior Editor / Senior Project Manager

- Project managed and edited 10 books with prestigious licensors including Rugby World Cup, Rugby Football Union, UEFA, the Science Museum and 20th Century Fox. Co-ordinated the entire origination process from creating and updating costings, commissioning authors and obtaining assets to chasing licensor approvals and signing off proofs and plotters for the finished books.

-          Wrote and edited The Official Rugby World Cup 2015 Activity Book, which was Amazon’s #1 New Release and #1 Best Seller in the General Sport & Outdoors for Young Adults category around the time of release.

-          Helped develop new editions, brainstormed and researched new ideas as well as creating exciting and informative presentations for internal and external use.

-          Edited and contributed ideas to two Augmented Reality books, which utilize new digital technology to allow dual player interaction, among other features.

-          Proven eye for detail through maintaining a high standard of quality for all projects, whilst acknowledging budget and schedule constraints.

Editor / Project Manager

- Project managed over 70 children's illustrated fiction and non-fiction series, from commissioning authors and creating schedules to final proofreading and plotter approval.

-          Developed excellent communication skills with in house design team and freelance agents, authors, designers and illustrators.

-          Skills include - copyediting, creating back cover copy, designing flat plans, assisting on photo shoots, drawing up and maintaining schedules, Americanising, Anglicising, fact checking, picture research, proofreading, developing new ideas, updating co-edition titles, creating company catalogue, commissioning authors and making AIs.

- Responsibilities included: Head of English language co-editions, worked with customers across four continents; Project manager for eight different series; Editor of a picture book series – with a total print run of 89,000 copies.

-          Developed high level of skills in managing schedules, copyediting, proofreading, brainstorming, Americanising, and picture and fact research.

-          Liaised in-house with design, editorial, foreign rights and production teams and externally with authors, editors, designers, agencies and international customers.

-          Worked regularly with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Editorial Assistant

- Assisted the editorial team on a variety of projects including copyediting titles, assessing competitors and creating AIs.

-          Carried out market research on books and authors using different sites, including Nielsen.

-          Created Excel sheets to help organize different projects.

-          Performed administrative tasks including scanning, uploading, filing, taking minutes during meetings, etc.

-          Gave a PowerPoint presentation on the imprint’s digital presence, strategy and potential.

Publishing Assistant

- Part of a team of thirty responsible for maintaining Abercrombie and Fitch’s brand and ambience within the store. Ensured look and image of store promoted sales and repeat visits.

-          Motivated staff to ensure they represented the company brand in appearance and approach to customers.

-          Trained five new members of staff in the skills required for such a position.

-          Promoted particular products, such as Abercrombie and Fitch’s perfume ‘Fierce’, through special displays.

-          Performed regular checks of the store to make sure a high level of appearance and brand promotion was maintained.

Visual Merchandiser

- Worked in Shanghai on a monthly bilingual lifestyle magazine, with a circulation of 100,000 copies every month, sold in Beijing, Shanghai and some of their neighboring cities. Content is a combination of fashion, high-end lifestyle, events and personality columns.

-          Worked on four monthly editions, starting with film and music reviews and progressing to press conferences, openings, events and interviews.

-          Interviewed Bill Fisher CEO of EnglishFirst, designers Mads Hagstrom, Anrdreas Rimkus and Bart van Bueren.

-          Copyedited the English content.
