Erin Harrist

Erin Beth Harrist is a highly accomplished Supervising Attorney leading the LGBTQ+ Unit at The Legal Aid Society.

She earned her B.A. in cultural anthropology with honors from Columbia College and went on to obtain her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she excelled as a Kent Scholar and a Stone Scholar.

Prior to her current role, Erin honed her legal skills in commercial litigation at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP before transitioning to focus on women's rights and civil liberties.

With 8 years of experience at the New York Civil Liberties Union, where she held roles as a Senior Staff Attorney and Staff Attorney, Erin brings a wealth of expertise to her work in the LGBTQ+ Unit.

Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to advocating for social justice causes and upholding the legal rights of marginalized communities.
