ASSISTANT DEAN & AREA COORDINATOR /  OFF CAMPUS HOUSING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Ensured smooth daily operation of the Office of Student Conduct and adjudicated alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Demonstrated expertise resulted in appointment as primary resource and consultant for faculty and administrators on cases and issues related to academic integrity, victim advocacy, and mediation services as well appointed as the campus Title IX investigator and adjudicated alleged Title IX violations following through until issue resolution. Responsible for university housing and residence life operations, consisting of 90 garden style apartments, including the successful administration and management of a 3.5 million department budget and directly supervised the Assistant Director, three Resident Director and the Office Manager.  Manage all aspects of the housing selection process using StarRez software.

-   Tactfully negotiated mutually beneficial financial agreements with outside vendors for  services directly related to housing as well as created and oversaw long-term repair and replacement plans for campus housing.

ASSISTANT DEAN OF STUDENT LIFE / DIRECTOR OF RESIDENCE LIFE

Effectively administered senior student affairs for the Manhattan Campus including managing the areas of Residence Life, Student Activities & Leadership Development, Storm Card Operations, and International Student Services. Provided comprehensive training and mentorship to the Coordinator of Residence Life & Student Activities, the Office Secretary, and 2 Graduate Assistants. Directed and administered diverse extra-curricular student life programs and activities including budget management and distribution of funds to various student groups and functions. Chaired the Food Advisory Council and Co-Chaired the Campus Security Council as well as served as the senior advisor for the Student Government Association, Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance Fraternity and the Organization of Resident Students maximizing cohesion and productivity.

- Trusted as senior student judicial officer successfully resolving multiple complex conflicts and providing primary direction for handling of student conduct matters and behavioral concerns, as well as addressing all appeals.
- Provided strong direction and helpful oversight for the International Student Services operation for the Manhattan Campus as a designated school official for F-1 and J-1 students including researching and maintaining knowledge of lawful international student status requirements.

DIRECTOR OF STUDENT LIFE

Directed all administrative functions of the residence life program including occupancy, billing, room selection/assignment, opening/closing procedures, and data management using the Banner system. Carefully selected and trained four resident assistants to ensure absolute competency. Efficiently coordinated all student programming on and off campus.

- Developed and implemented a comprehensive student development program for a residence hall serving 120 students and integrated cutting-edge educational, cultural, and community building programming.

COORDINATOR OF RESIDENCE LIFE & STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Co-managed a campus life program for over 3,500 commuter and resident students as well as the Wunch Student Center while simultaneously assisting with the coordination of art exhibits and artist receptions. Provided expert advisement for over 30 student groups and directly oversaw the activities of all campus media. Organized and coordinated the student staff selection process and designed comprehensive training modules for all Campus Managers. Co-created and critically aided in the development of the Student Activities Handbook and the Student Leader’s Retreat.

Polytechnic University - Metro Tech Campus

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS LIFE

Efficiently administered and coordinated all aspects of fraternity and sorority life by serving as primary advocate for 40 Greek-lettered organizations within the Inter-Fraternity Council, the National Panhellenic Conference, the Latino Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Multicultural Advisory Council. Created and implemented educational, recreational, leadership and risk management programs Meticulously collected and maintained records, membership data and budget information and conducted Greek Life 101 Workshop for presidents, new member educators and prospective members.

- Developed, interpreted, and enforced University policies and coordinated the adjudication of all disciplinary and judicial concerns.

COORDINATOR OF FRATERNITY & SORORITY LIFE

Provided leadership as Student Activities liaison to over 50 student groups, including class councils and coordinated staffing, scheduling and operation of the Campus Information Desk. Developed a useful and accessible orientation, training and evaluation program for 17 information desk assistants and one manager. Supervised and managed the programming, risk management and membership activities of 11 Greek organizations.

Selected accomplishments:
- Directed multiple large events as Campus Coordinator for the Race for Literacy, American Heart Walk, and the Multiple Sclerosis Walk, held annually at the University.
- Organized and coordinated the Who’s Who, Ada Craig Walker, President’s Undergraduate Leadership Awards program as well as six endowed class scholarships.

Assistant Director Of Student Activities

Spearheaded management of a 22-floor residence hall housing over 360 students including the supervision and evaluation of 10 Resident Assistants assessing student’s needs and working with the staff to provide quality programs. Executed appropriate disciplinary action when community and individual rights were violated and facilitated the resolution of conflicts as a University Hearing Officer. Additionally, handled all administration activities for three co-educational residence halls, including disabled student and Greek housing, including assisting with staff selection and training as well as housing sign-up process.

- Chaired the Spring Training Committee which coordinated the Student Staff Training Weekend, providing exceptional development for over 250 para-professional staff.
- Instructed ECPY 301; a two credit class for Resident Assistants to ensure proper staff training.
- Re-vamped the department’s programming manual to be current and more accessible to all employees.

Residence Hall Director

Provided strong leadership and served as a resource to the members group of OMSA including supporting the planning and implementation of educational, academic, social and cultural programming. Compiled and distributed the monthly OMSA Student Activities calendar and served as the co-editor of the Grapevine, the office bi-monthly newsletter. Efficiently scheduled prejudice reduction workshops conducted by the campus chapter of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) and served as a prejudice reduction trainer.

- Cooperatively coordinated and promoted special activities such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Black History Month Luncheon, the Spellman Academic Achievement Awards for students of color, and the “Uniqueness in Unity” Student Leadership Retreat for leaders of the Multicultural Student Advisor Council (MSAC).
