Meet Middleton, an experienced investor with a focus on the sharing economy, SMB platforms, mobile, SaaS, big data, and e-commerce. Middleton's impressive track record comes from his previous roles as a co-founder and general partner at The Community Fund VC, a board member at Teal and Tastemakers Africa, investor at Skillist, and board observer at Chief, among others.
Middleton's career started as a network security engineer based in Philadelphia, traveling across the U.S., the U.K., Mexico, Israel, and China. He later became the head of information technology at LivePerson in 2010 before co-founding and leading Backstory, a venture-backed startup. Middleton was then appointed as an early executive at WeWork in 2011, serving as a co-founder of WeWork Labs, a global startup incubator, and running WeWork X, M&A, startup investments, business and digital product development, and inside sales.
Middleton has also been an active angel investor, advising many early-stage technology startups, including Eight, Camelot Metrics, Thunderclap, Morsel, Uptown House, and many others. He has a deep passion for supporting mission-driven entrepreneurs and startups that are making a positive social impact.
Middleton holds a degree from Drexel University and studied General Studies at Bucks County Community College. He is driven by the desire to create and accelerate companies that can change the world. With a wealth of experience and connections, Middleton has become a prominent figure in the investment community, known for his strategic thinking and savvy business acumen.
