Deborah Charych is a renowned scientist and entrepreneur in the field of protein and small molecule medicines. With expertise in cancer biology, immunology, and chemistry, she has played a vital role in developing innovative therapeutics from concept to early clinical development. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University.

Charych has a wealth of experience working in various organizations, including Third Rock Ventures, Nektar Therapeutics, Five Prime Therapeutics (now Amgen), Chiron/Novartis, and Berkeley Lab. As the Scientific Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Advisor at RayzeBio, she remains at the forefront of cutting-edge research.

During her time as Executive Director of Research Strategy and Translation, Charych was instrumental in developing tumor-targeting technologies, leading to the development of several drug-delivery platforms. She also founded the Protein Therapeutics Group at Chiron and contributed to the development of multiple marketed products.
