Orly Idan

Orly Idan is a senior associate researcher at the Psychology of Intergroup Conflict and Reconciliation Lab at the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology, IDC Herzliya. She brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as a postdoctoral associate at the Salutogenic Research Center and the Conflict Management Program at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where she specialized in salutogenic interventions in conflictual settings. Orly's academic journey includes a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University, focusing on resilience sources, socio-emotional self-perceptions, family climate, and hopeful thinking among students. Additionally, she holds a Master's degree in psycholinguistics from Tel Aviv University. Her research interests span a wide range of topics such as the influence of linguistic cues on emotions in intractable conflicts, discourse analysis in conflict and health contexts, native and foreign language use in relation to conflict, and mentalization and language development.
