With over 550 stores and market leader in the Netherlands, Gall & Gall is Ahold’s chain of off licences, owned and franchised. As Supply Chain Director and member of the Board, I had full operational and P&L responsibility for and end-to-end Supply Chain. Member of the Dutch Supply Chain Arena of Ahold. Heavily involved in SC optimization, including warehouse reorganization, integration of formerly outsourced warehousing and distribution, outsourcing of transport, capturing synergies in inbound logistics as well as working capital reductions. This includes a major project to fully integrate the supply chain of all Dutch operating companies into one joined supply chain, including a fully automated national warehouse.
Achievements:
• Volume increase of 60% in 2 years
• Cost reduction of 25% in 2 years
• Leadtime reduction of 50%
• Service level up from 95% to 99,4% on wine
• Employee satisfaction significantly improved
• Outsourcing of direct store transport and return logistics

The national warehouse delivers all slow-moving products to the 4 regional warehouses of Albert Heijn in Holland, from where they are cross-docked to the stores. As Operations Manager and a member of the Management Team, I had direct operational responsibility for the daily operation and results. Span of control: 24 teamleaders, 1000 employees. Responsible for development and 
monitoring of flexworkers strategy and performance. Joint responsibility for the development and implementation of a major reorganization, part of a company-wide program designed to improve culture and working ethics
