In 2018, he was named Investment Banker of the Year by the M&A Advisor for his exceptional work in the industry.

Prior to forming Octagon, Michael served as the Founder/Co-Head of Paragon Capital Partners, which he sold in 2014. Before that, he was a senior M&A banker at Lehman Brothers and Banc of America Securities, where he also served as COO of the M&A Department and Fairness Opinion Committee member.

Michael's clients/investments include prominent companies such as Thinkorswim, Saber Interactive, Fannie May Confections, GTCR, Boeing, and more. He has also chaired/co-owned Undercover Chocolate Co, a manufacturer of better-for-you snack products, and managed Octagon Investment Partners.
