Joon Maeng, Ph. D.

Joon Maeng is an accomplished patent consultant and inventor with over 15 years of experience in monetizing US patents. He has worked at prestigious companies such as Intellectual Ventures and SBC Knowledge Ventures, LP where he supported and managed the entire process of patent commercialization. With his expertise in patent analysis, valuation, mining, and claim chart generation, he has helped numerous companies identify infringement and invalidation, acquire strategic patents, and perform prior art search.

Maeng is a technologist at heart with degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He also has 69 US patents to his name and is passionate about photography, hiking, and painting. Currently, he is the Patent Consultant and Inventor at JMIP Consulting LLC, providing services such as patent landscape analysis, infringement identification, and invention coaching.
