A Path for Europe (PfEU) is an independent non-profit think tank based in Berlin. We conduct research in and provide policy advice on a number of issues relevant to the future of Europe. As a research associate and group leader, my responsibilities also include developing research programs, organizing events, publishing articles on a regular basis, and overseeing the Finance, Trade, and (Digital) Internal Market working group.

Areas of interest: EU health and migration policy, EU digital strategy, eHealth, information privacy, data ethics, and digital governance and rights

A Path for Europe

Research Associate & Working Group Leader

Worked with Prof. Joanna Bryson and Prof. Slava Jankin examining when and why different modeling methods are used, with a particular focus on infectious disease modeling utilizing COVID-19 as a case study. We are especially interested in (a) the technical and design choices that go into building epidemic models, (b) the rationale behind these decisions, (c) the associated advantages, disadvantages, and policy implications, and (d) model communication for policy more broadly.

Tasks included: reviewing literature and establishing an ontology of methods, comparing methodologies from available models, determining and upholding research best practices, and conducting interviews and surveys with important stakeholders (modelers, academics, policymakers, etc.).

Research Associate – Understanding Infectious Disease Modeling Project

Provided residentially-based, acute and intensive health services and interventions in a premier trauma-informed treatment center for children ages 6-17 with severe emotional disorders, including many of whom are at-risk and/or come from vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Hospital Diversion Relief Counselor

Helped build and implement innovative management solutions for mission-driven organizations. Projects included: strategic and tactical planning, fundraising training and execution, impact identification and measurement, grant-making and program management best practices, organizational design and executive recruitment, management support and executive coaching, and messaging, communications, and online engagement.

Schaffer&Combs

Consulting Fellow

Advanced city portfolio management with a particular focus on low-income and immigrant populations. Innovated and implemented creative initiatives to tackle unique challenges facing these communities. Designed and built the new Kiva US hub (<a href="http://www.kivaushub.org/">http://www.kivaushub.org/</a>) in response to a mass organizational restructuring in order to provide targeted, long-term support for US borrowers.

Other tasks included: supporting small business owners, planning/leading workshops, developing local partnerships, managing trustee relations, collaborating with community/city representatives, pursuing network growth opportunities, and creating marketing material to promote the organization’s mission.

Fellow

Founded digital health app centered around health advocacy for young adults in efforts to combat major public health issues on college campuses, including sexual assault. Featured in: Huffington Post, Women of Silicon Valley, Bustle, Vice, Mic., Refinery29, Mashable SE Asia, the University Herald, and the Stanford Daily.

Tabu Tech

Co-founder & CEO

Assisted in the communications and management of the Fellows program. Contributed to the recruiting efforts, application management, program marketing, and the coordination of the fellows team's tri-annual training in San Francisco.

Intern

Designed, prepared, and taught course material on El Greco to high school students in Mongolia. Purpose was to lower the barriers to pursuing international higher education opportunities by developing critical skills and providing mentorship. Had to adept quickly and adjust my approaches based on each student's English comprehension level, which varied from fluent to barely conversational.

Zorig Foundation

Teaching Fellow and Seminar Leader, Mongolian Young Scholars Program

Represented TFA on Stanford's campus and assisted with their recruiting, marketing, and event planning. Coordinated with multiple groups on campus to arrange talks, panels, and other events. Also acted as the main liaison between current students and TFA alumni.

Teach For America

Campus Campaign Coordinator

Worked in the local Tibetan hospital in Dharamshala, India providing care for Tibetan refugees and scheduled caste members. Required deep cultural awareness, respect, and maturity. Was the initial experience that drove my desire to embark on my honors thesis.

Tasks included: managing patient intake, aiding physicians and nurses with procedures, monitoring patients, and assisting in high-stress situations.

Delek Hospital

Clinical Internship

Continuously worked for Professor Susan Olzak on a project analyzing the relationship between anti-Islam protest events and changing immigration policies in Western Europe. Worked within multi-variable data sets, performing statistical modeling and regression analysis. The project required strong research and analytical skills and advance knowledge of various programs, including STATA and Excel.
