Dr Andrew Fleming

Dr. Andrew Fleming is a British civil servant with 34 years of experience in various roles within the public sector. He began his career at the Home Office before transferring to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2014. Currently, he serves as the Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in Hyderabad, India, leading a team focused on trade and investment, political initiatives, and social issues like the environment, girl child, and interfaith-based projects. Dr. Fleming's experience and passion lie in migration policy, project development, and combating human trafficking. He has held several positions in the Migration Directorate at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the UK Border Agency, including Assistant Director and Country Officer. Dr. Fleming also has substantial knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa, having represented the UK government in 19 countries throughout his career. He was recently conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy by the University of Bolton in recognition of his service to the British Civil Service.
