In August of 2017 Upthere was acquired by Western Digital. I now lead the Operations Engineering organization within WD's Client Solutions Group (the consumer side of WD).  Upthere's mission was to make your data always accessible and always usable without exceptions. Now, as part of Western Digital, we carry this important mission forward. I am privileged to lead a remarkable team of committed, thoughtful, funny, and incredibly smart people that share my passion for building meaningful things. As always, our focus remains on our customers; when our customers are happy, we are happy.

Over the course of my time at Upthere, I was fortunate to have built and led a broad spectrum of teams full of amazing people. These teams included DevOps, QA, Backend Engineering, Analytics, and Customer Support.  

I was actively engaged in raising more than $77 million in venture capital from a group of top-tier firms, including Kleiner Perkins, GV, Floodgate, Elevation Partners, and Western Digital Capital, culminating in the sale of the company to Western Digital in the fall of 2017. 

As part of the sale to Western Digital, I help to lead the integration of Upthere into  Western Digital’s multi-billion-dollar Content Solutions business unit. 

My role at Upthere was broad and allowed me to contribute wherever the company needed me, which is what I did. My focus was, and still is, on recruiting and retaining that are both technically excellent and also fundamentally good people to be around.
