Matteo Franceschetti is the Co-Founder and CEO of Eight Sleep, a sleep fitness company that has developed a proprietary technology to optimize body recovery and rest while asleep. Thanks to cutting-edge AI and machine learning models, the Pod compresses sleep and scans the body while asleep to monitor one's health. The technology has been recognized for its innovation, including as one of TIME's "Best Inventions" in 2018 and 2019, and Fast Company's "Most Innovative Companies" in 2018. Franceschetti holds multiple patents in health and technology and has been a Member of the Forbes Technology Council, Co-Chair at FWD.us, and a mentor at several incubator programs, including Techstars and Microsoft Bizpark. Prior to Eight Sleep, he led GIR, a cleantech company acquired in 2014, and Global Investment, which was acquired in 2011. Franceschetti holds a Law degree from the University of Ferrara, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Italian Bar Association while working at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Allen & Overy, two of the Magic Circle firms.
