Zoie Newman is a skilled mediator and patient advocate at OHSU, Oregon Health & Science University. She has a Master of Arts in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development: Area focus Africa from Portland State University.

As a certified mediator, Newman actively works with patients and their healthcare providers to guarantee the best possible care and communication. She also teaches communication and conflict resolution skills to student providers to improve patient-provider relationships.

Newman has a vast amount of experience working in healthcare, previously working as a Care Coordinator, Patient Access Specialist, and Mediator at Dorchester Municipal Court. Besides, she gained experience as an intern at the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus and served as an Interim Program Director for Staff Training and Development at Pine Street Inn.

Newman also provided Human Resource training as Coordinator at Pine Street Inn and volunteered as a Facilitator at Girls Inc. of Northwest Oregon while working part-time as an Office Assistant at Portland State University.
