Zion Lee is a dedicated Chemical Engineering Ph.D. Candidate with a strong background in CHO cell engineering and recombinant AAV production. Their passion lies in applying innovative problem-solving skills to address challenges in bioprocess development for revolutionary therapies.
Zion's educational journey includes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Prior to this, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) specializing in Chemical Engineering & Biochemistry at Calvin College. Furthermore, Zion excelled in their studies at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute, earning a TOPS Program Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
During their academic pursuits, Zion Lee actively contributed to various organizations. They served as a Graduate Research Assistant in Prof. Wei-Shou Hu Lab at the University of Minnesota, gaining valuable experience in advanced research practices. Additionally, Zion held positions such as Chemical Engineering Intern at Master Finish Company, Student Researcher in Prof. Brendan Looyenga Lab at Calvin University, Research Intern in Dr. Brian Haab Lab at Van Andel Institute, and also worked as a Writing Consultant at Calvin University.
