Ziad Tassabehji is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of expertise in global strategic business planning, business development, investing, and M&A.
He is the Founder and CEO of Green Wave, a leading UAE company specializing in investing and incubating sustainable real estate and technology-driven innovative firms.
Previously, Ziad held the role of Director of Innovation and Investments at Masdar, a renowned multi-billion dollar initiative focusing on renewable energy and sustainable technology under the Abu Dhabi Government.
During his tenure, he successfully built and managed a vast portfolio with assets across the UK, Spain, US, and the Middle East, including prominent entities like Torresol, London Array, Shams1, and Winwind.
Ziad played a pivotal role in establishing two prominent venture capital funds, the Masdar Clean Tech Fund ($250M) in partnership with Credit Suisse, and the Masdar Clean Tech Fund 2 ($300M) in collaboration with Deutsche Bank.
As an early-stage investor, he contributed to the growth of Rimac, a Croatian-based company that has ascended to a leading position in the global electric car market over the past five years.
His current investment portfolio includes diverse startups in the sustainable technology sector and his specialties encompass solar energy, wind power, waste to energy, venture capital, private equity, water, food security, real estate, and bio-technology.
Ziad Tassabehji pursued his education in industrial engineering at Texas A&M University and also studied at lycée.
Throughout his career, Ziad has held significant positions such as Chairman at Gaia Greenenergy Holding Ltd, CEO at Windcliff Group, and Education Officer Europe Region at YPO - Young Presidents' Organization, among others.
