Perry Chen Studios is an independent art studio that produces teen artist Perry S. Chen's creative works, including animation films, visual art and stories.

My responsibility as producer include producing Perry Chen's films and other creative projects, securing corporate sponsorship, overseeing all production, financing, marketing, publicity, and distribution as needed, and identifying and coordinating outside talents for collaboration.

Current production includes an animation short about Perry's late father, my late husband, "Changyou's Journey", a brilliant scientist and biotech CEO from an impoverished countryside home in China, whose young life was cut short by cancer, for which he was trying to develop cures. Produced the multiple award-winning, 2019 Oscar-qualified animation short film, CHANGYOU'S JOURNEY, directed by my son Perry S. Chen. Led talent sourcing, budget, deliverables, fundraising, production, post-production, publicity, media, promotion, film festival submissions, and distribution efforts. Directed film trailer.

Responsible for sponsorship, marketing, PR/media, worldwide distribution deal for the multiple award-winning animation short "Ingrid Pitt: Beyond the Forest," a 6-min film about a young Jewish girl Ingrid Pitt's survival during the Holocaust. Pitt eventually became a film/TV star, starring in the classic war film "Where Eagles Dare" opposite Clint Eastwood. 

This film features storyboard by Oscar-nominated animation legend Bill Plympton, animation by award-winning 10-yr-old film critic & first-time animator Perry Chen, directed by Kevin Sean Michaels, co-produced by Drs. Jud Newborn and Zhu Shen.

The film premiered at 2011 Comic-Con and LA Shorts Fest, acquired for worldwide distribution by Shorts International (distributor of Oscar-nominated shorts), won Special Jury Award at 2011 Flyway Film Festival, Best Animation Award at 2012 International Family Film Festival in LA, Remi Award at 2012 WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston, and was among the 45 animation shorts eligible for the 2012 Academy Awards. The film has been touring over 20 film festivals worldwide and received critical acclaim and extensive national and international media coverage.
