Zak Slayback is an intelligent, hard-working individual whose professional experience has led him down a path of entrepreneurship and venture capital investment. He studied at Somerset Area Senior High School and later attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Slayback is currently Principal at 1517 Fund, an organization that helps to invest in early-stage startups with a focus on supporting dropouts, renegades, and deep tech projects. He also owns Get Ahead Labs and advised at Parsegon and Usage Ai. Slayback has also held roles as Marketing Partner and Business Development Director at Discover Praxis.
His commitment to education led him to become an Academic Tutor at University of Pennsylvania, Undergraduate Research Fellow, and Education Outreach Associate at The Harlan Institute. He was also a member of the North American Executive Board at Students for Liberty and an Education Programs Intern at the Institute for Humane Studies.
Aside from his professional work, Slayback wrote a book called "How to Get Ahead." He shares his knowledge and experience through ZakSlayback.com and his newsletter, zakslayback.substack.com.
