Zak Jacques
Policy Analyst - Renewable and Electrical Energy Division at Natural Resources Canada
Zak Jacques is a professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in policy analysis and academia.
Zak holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Energy Policy from Carleton University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from The University of British Columbia, and has studied International Relations at Durham University during a study abroad program.
Currently, Zak serves as a Policy Analyst in the Renewable and Electrical Energy Division at Natural Resources Canada, where he focuses on energy policies and regulations.
Previously, Zak held positions within Natural Resources Canada, including roles in the National Energy Board Modernization Secretariat working on policy analysis and in the Pipelines, Gas, and LNG Division.
In addition to his government experience, Zak has a strong academic background, having been the Editor in Chief of ISEMA: Perspectives on Innovation, Science, and Environment, a Senior Editor at the UBC Journal of International Affairs, and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at UBC Vantage College and the UBC Department of Political Science.
Furthermore, Zak has demonstrated leadership skills through his role as an Exchange Leader at UBC Go Global and his involvement in the College Student Retention Program at Costco Wholesale Canada.
