Zahid Bilgrami

Zahid Bilgrami, a seasoned professional with a background in management consulting and corporate strategy development, serves as the CEO of Defaqto, an independent financial information provider. With an academic resume that includes a BSc in Economics with Statistics from the University of Bristol, an MBA with distinction in Strategy & Finance from the London Business School, a Masters in Wealth Management from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and a qualification as a Chartered Accountant from ICAEW, Bilgrami has the expertise to make a significant contribution to his role. He also led corporate strategy development and executed M&A transactions for a FTSE 100 corporation, with experience in turning around distressed businesses and integrating post-merger acquisitions.

As CEO of Defaqto, Bilgrami empowers individuals and financial institutions to make informed investment decisions through his company's independent fund and product information. He led the company through a secondary MBO backed by private equity, and in 2019, SimplyBiz Group acquired Defaqto, bringing together two industry leaders. He also served as Corporate Development at Balfour Beatty Plc and Senior Manager at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.
