Over the last year I have been increasingly involved with Chora Chori charity in Nepal and I am delighted to have been asked to be a Patron for the charity. 

"ChoraChori" is the Nepali word for "children" and we are making a huge difference to the lives of some of Nepal's most vulnerable children. These children may have been trafficked, sold into a life of slavery and abuse, or be runaways who have crossed the open border with India in the hope of finding a better life only to end up in shocking circumstances that no child deserves. 

With Chora Chori's hard work and its dedicated staff we are repatriating Nepal's lost children. This involves not just retrieving the children but also researching their families so that, if it is safe to do so, we can reunite them with their families. If not, we will place the children in a safe childcare environment where they can attend school. Older children may join vocational training. If there are any traffickers to be found, the team will find them and bring them to justice. In September 2015 we rescued 13 Nepali children from Bangalore, a major step forward in our quest to eradicate this from Nepal. 

Our vision is that all children living in Nepal should have the right to live in a safe and secure environment where they can enjoy a happy childhood and look forward to a future as well-rounded adults

The charities mission is to identify the most needy and at-risk Nepali children, often the children that society has overlooked or even despised. We help and protect them, giving them the chance in life they deserve.

Aceso Intermediate Care works with NHS Trusts, Commissioning Groups, and local authorities
throughout the Country to provide strategic solutions to the overwhelming issues they face with bed shortages and specialist intermediate facilities.

The company is working with these groups, with regard to their bed blocking issues that are becoming an ever-increasing problem. Professor John Young, National Clinical Director for Integration and Frail Elderly, NHS England stated: “The Hospital is full” and this has become a dependable barometer for the NHS and increasingly popularized by our media. “ The community and social care if full” is arguably a more truthful statement. The average reported time from referral to assessment is 1 day, with an average time from assessment to commencement of service being 2 days, which means there is a total of 3 days waiting in acute beds, blocking use for more acute work. Solving the outflow of patients who are now “medically fit” will better enable the ability to meet other targets including the 4-hour Emergency Access target, CEPOD and others.
 
We are building local facilities for organisations to deal with these issues. They are between 50-100 bed facilities that will work closely with organisations and address the “bed blocking issues”, while saving money on patients being in beds unnecessarily, offering tailored expert patient care and allow services to be more efficient within the communities they serve.
