Zachary Meisner

Zachary Meisner is the Principal of KIPP Academy Boston K-8, a charter school in Massachusetts.1 He has been in this role for four years and has been in school leadership for six years.1 Meisner's career in education began in Chicago in 2010, where he taught on the west side of the city. He then joined KIPP in Chicago in 2012, teaching 5th grade reading.1
In 2014, Meisner moved to Boston and started teaching at KIPP Academy Boston as a 7th grade reading teacher and Grade Level Chair.1 He has been with KIPP Massachusetts since then, witnessing the growth of students from kindergarten to 7th grade, which he considers a highlight of his career.1
Meisner's educational background includes a degree from the University of Michigan.3 In his current role as Principal, he is passionate about creating a supportive learning environment for students. He believes in the importance of recognizing students' communities, families, hopes, and dreams, stating that "Where they stand as human beings matters first and foremost and that's why where they learn matters".2
Outside of his professional life, Meisner enjoys spending time with his wife Jesse and his dog Riggins. He also likes going for runs and reading books.1
