Zachary Kelly has been the Assistant Director of the Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ISEEES) at the University of California, Berkeley since 2012.12 In this role, he organizes the Institute's lecture series and conferences, edits the biannual ISEEES Newsletter, and maintains the ISEEES website and social media.1
Kelly holds an MA in Russian and East European Studies from Indiana University and is fluent in Estonian, Polish, and Russian.1 He has 10 years of experience running an interdisciplinary hub for faculty and students at UC Berkeley.3
As Assistant Director, Kelly is fully trained in the campus financial and administrative systems and holds a UC system-wide People Management credential.1 He has taken courses in grant writing and business communication, as well as undertaken ISEEES-sponsored summer study of advanced Estonian in Tallinn.1
Kelly has participated in the ASEEES Exploring Career Diversity Conversation Series, which features discussions with professionals working in diverse careers related to Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies.45
