Zach Whelchel is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Legit Apps, a Lexington-based tech startup.1 He grew up in Wilmore, Kentucky, and graduated from Asbury University with degrees in media communication and mathematics.1 In 2010, Whelchel created an app to organize the schedule for the Christian music festival Ichthus, which led to the creation of Legit Apps.1 He later collaborated with Brent Holuta to develop an organizational app for K Week at the University of Kentucky in 2013.1 Whelchel's expertise in software development and his innovative approach to solving organizational challenges have been instrumental in the growth and success of Legit Apps, which now creates customized apps for colleges, schools, conferences, and festivals across the country.1
