Everyday Rides is a free community calendar for the Seattle cycling community to find and share social rides and bike events. Everyday Rides encourages the promotion of inclusive and welcoming rides and events by making events easy to find and encouraging transparency in event listings. In addition to the public calendar, events and community updates are regularly shared on Instagram and the Everyday Rides Blog.

• I am the sole founder and am responsible for all design, development, deployment, and community engagement. Everyday Rides is used and trusted throughout the Seattle Cycling Community. I also spend a lot of effort marketing and engaging with the cycling community through support, providing resources for ride leaders and participants, and running informational and networking events.
• Users can sign up to receive automated weekly email digests of new and upcoming community events, add rides and events to the site, RSVP and comment on events, create and join groups, and subscribe to personalized iCal calendar feeds in their calendar of choice. Interaction happens both through the web and via regular, automated email digests and email notifications.

Bike Insights provides the global cycling community with independent, data-driven insights about bike design. Our tools make it easy to search for bikes and compare them using powerful yet intuitive resources like our bike-on-bike comparison tool. Bike Insights is a popular website used and shared by many tens of thousands of cyclists, bike shops, bike fitters, and bike brands all over the world. As technical co-founder, I am responsible for all design, development, and deployment.

• The site is built upon a massive database of user-submitted bike geometry data, user fit feedback, and specifications which we have robust administration tools for reviewing data quality, managing user-submitted revisions, organizing data from over a thousand brands and tens of thousands of models of bikes, and managing categorization and category analysis.
• Bike Insights’ primary feature is an easy-to-use comparison tool with bike-on-bike overlay, the ability to modify component and fit parameters, easily toggle and compare against similar bikes, sizing analysis, design insights, and calculated design and handling metrics. Each design includes several metrics for how each specific size and design of bicycle compares to other sizes of the same bike and to other models of similar size and category.
• Comparison features are based on a custom complex system of geometry calculations to cross calculate missing bicycle design attributes that allow us to draw and calculate sizing and handling metrics for almost every design on the site.
• Other major features include ElasticSearch-based search tools with automatically-managed updates and pre-processing, personalized bike collections, rider feedback reporting for improving category and sizing metrics, brand-based analytics, category trends, sizing charts, and data management tools for partner brands.

Worked with the IT department and Internal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to design a modern JavaScript based internal tool for managing the Parts and BOMs development of the company's water jet cutting products. Like GitHub, but for the full dependency tree of parts that go into building a complex physical product.

I worked with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, collect feedback, build wireframes and prototype designs.

The final deliverable was a standalone React application that I built and that interfaced with a GraphQL API I decided for interacting with the data required for the new application.

I built out the first version of TINYpulse, a lightweight anonymous survey tool to help companies improve the happiness and culture in their workplace, and have since helped grow the company and software suite to now encompass a second product CLIENTpulse and a client base of hundreds of companies with employees that sent us emails thanking us for the product every day.

My role was the first contributor working directly with the CEO to design, develop, iterate on and contribute new product ideas, scale the platform, and build out the software engineering team.

Developer working with a small, remote team building a marketplace for high quality, original written content built on a crowdsourcing model for writing and grading. Primary technologies included working with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, MySQL and Resque.

I focused a great deal on working with Amazon Mechanical Turk and building out interfaces and processes to help source high quality content by splitting up writing tasks into a pipeline of various writers, copy-editors, graders, and automated quality and plagiarism detection as well as helping clients with high volume needs build a tailored writer group for higher quality results.
