Yvonne Etaghene is a multimedia performance activist, educator, and writer based in the US. She holds degrees in fiction writing, performance poetry, and African American studies, and has used her diverse expertise to create impactful content and programs for marginalized communities. Yvonne is passionate about social justice and uses her art as a medium of liberation, highlighting underrepresented stories, especially those of Queer Africans.
Throughout her career, Yvonne has worked with various organizations, including Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, Poetry for the People, UC Berkeley, and Audre Lorde Project, to name a few. She has also created her own initiatives, such as the NIGERIAN DYKE REALNESS podcast and the Sugarcane Writing Workshop. Her specialties include community outreach, facilitation, data analysis, grants administration, event planning, performance, writing, editing, and workshop facilitation.
