Yuri Horowitz

Yuri Horowitz is the Director of Destination Development at The Royal Commission for AlUla, a position he has held since July 2022. He is a seasoned tourism professional with over 25 years of experience in destination planning, development, and management. His expertise includes stakeholder engagement, project management, and destination strategy, with a focus on sustainable tourism and cultural heritage.13

Horowitz has worked in various capacities, including as a tourism consultant for the World Bank and as a cultural heritage tourism program manager at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. He has also served as a senior tourism expert for the U.S. Department of State and has been involved in numerous international projects across 88 countries.123

He holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Destination Management from George Washington University's Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. His multilingual skills and extensive travel experience contribute to his holistic approach to tourism development.12
