Yunnan Chen is a highly educated individual with a diverse academic background. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford, where she graduated with honors. She furthered her studies by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Development Economics and International Development at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). In addition to these achievements, Yunnan also obtained a Master's Degree in Political Science and Government from The University of British Columbia.
Yunnan Chen has gained extensive professional experience through various roles in different organizations. Currently, she serves as a Senior Research Officer at the Overseas Development Institute. Previously, she was a PhD Candidate at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and held positions such as Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Global Development, Research Assistant at the China Africa Research Initiative, and Research Officer at the Institute of Development Studies.
Throughout her career, Yunnan Chen has showcased her expertise in research and analysis. Her experience includes roles such as Research Intern at Chinadialogue, Commissioning Editor at e-International Relations, Intern at the International Relations and Security Network at ETH, Research Assistant at the Institute of Asian Research, Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia, and International Teaching Assistant at Y.K.
