Yong Shian

Yong Shian is a pharmacist turned tech enthusiast and data science enthusiast with a passion for startups and social entrepreneurship. With a background in pharmacy and bioinformatics, Yong Shian founded FoodNinja Innovation, a social enterprise tackling food waste issues by connecting businesses with excess food to charities.

Yong Shian's impressive journey includes participating in the MaGIC Accelerator Program, winning the Good Impact Award from Digi Telecommunication, and representing Malaysia at the Telenor Youth Summit 2014. He later returned to the Telenor Youth Forum 2016 as a mentor and keynote presenter.

Despite his pharmacy background, Yong Shian expanded his skills by attending a Ruby on Rails programming bootcamp, learning SQL and Python during an internship at KFit/Fave, and developing a keen interest in business intelligence. His expertise lies in leveraging technology and data to drive decision-making processes, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Currently, Yong Shian serves as the Co-Founder & CEO of Advanx Health. His previous roles include Business Intelligence Analyst and Data Management at AM PM Pharmacy Malaysia, Assistant Pharmacist at the same establishment, and various leadership positions in organizations like Telenor Youth Forum, Fave Group, and Malaysia Green Lung. Yong Shian is known for his innovative mindset and dedication to utilizing the latest technology and data for impactful change.
