In this project, we are studying the implementation of environmental judgments of the Supreme Court. We intend to produce three outcomes : an academic report, a collection of case briefs, and 5 short documentaries with stories from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand.

The current engagement with UNFPA India is a part of the Experential Learning Module of the Young India Fellowship Programme. Our team is expected to bring communications led strategies to popularise the 'Saathiya' ( Adolescent Health peer educators) programme as envisaged in the Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram. My role is to examine policy-bottlenecks and suggest modifications.

The assignments were directed at assisting in the research-work that was being undertaken at the organisation. I had an opportunity to work on diverse areas such as 'Coastal Zone Regulations and the Courts' and 'Climate Change and International Rule of Law.'

The work majorly involved writing briefing notes pertaining to various areas of regulations and laws such as Civil Aviation, Coal Linkages, Food Standards and Mining. I also had an opportunity to research on laws applicable to International Sanctions, functioning of ICANN and role of State level coordination committees on preventing unauthorised acceptance of deposits by unscrupulous entities.

The assignments involved working on issues of constitutional law such as the topic of Money Bill; the judicial treatment ofRight to Fair Compensation and Transparency in LandAcquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, Net Neutrality, and Suppliers Liability under the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Bill, 2010, and the Indo-US Civilian nuclear agreement.

I had the privilege to work with the Litigation as well as the Policy and Consultancy Team of the Foundation. This exposed me to contemporary domestic and international issues. The major body of work for the litigation team involved researching on Ecologically Sensitive Zone of Western Ghats and the law pertaining thereto for a matter disputing the passage of transmission-lines through the area.The assignments for the Policy Vertical involved writing research notes on topics such as a) Possibility of Alignment between JFM Guidelines and REDD for a US-AID Project b) The Right to Environmental Information c) Participatory Forest Management and International Conventions on the Environment
