Machine Learning Researcher and Engineer
Yi Hong is a highly accomplished machine learning researcher and engineer with extensive experience in data analysis and AI infrastructure. With a Master's degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Doctorate in Computer Science from UCLA, Yi has worked in several well-known organizations and has gained expertise in multiple technical areas.
Currently working as a Principal Machine Learning Researcher and Engineer at AppDynamics, which is a part of Cisco, Yi is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning techniques to analyze machine data for AIOps. Prior to this role, Yi served as a Machine Learning Researcher and Engineer at Sumo Logic, where he played a crucial role in driving Sumo Logic's IPO. Before joining Sumo Logic, Yi was a Staff Relevance and Machine Learning Engineer at WalmartLabs. His work includes building APM knowledge and causal graphs for application performance monitoring, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis. Yi Hong is also credited with designing algorithms to discover business transactions, application topology, and critical entities/paths in an application.
Yi Hong has several years of experience in designing and implementing AI-related projects, and his research work has been published in many prestigious academic journals. During his doctoral studies, Yi worked as a research assistant at UCLA and as a research staff member at the City University of Hong Kong's Computer Science Department. He is passionate about automating machine data analysis tasks and making machine data analysis more engaging.
