Yasuo Moriyasu is a seasoned education technology (EdTech) executive and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the field. He began his career as a director at a film production company before joining the digital education team at Fukutake Publishing (now Benesse Corporation). Moriyasu spent most of his time at the company developing digital education products and leading new business initiatives from conception to market launch. Eventually, he became the head of the EdTech lab at Benesse, where he oversaw R&D for new education services and played a significant role in bringing Udemy to the Japanese market.

Moriyasu's expertise in EdTech took him around the world, where he served as the founder and director of Benesse's Hong Kong/Shenzhen offices and managed their Silicon Valley office's operations. He also collaborated with MIT Media Lab on joint research projects.

In 2017, Moriyasu joined Libanes, a research and development-based venture firm that focuses on knowledge manufacturing. At Libanes, he served as the head of training and education business and led their startup support initiatives. In 2020, he was appointed as a director of Libanes Capital, where he oversees venture investment and development.

Moriyasu received his bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Tsukuba and his master's in technology management from Tokyo University of Science.
