Yannis K. Valtis, MD
Yannis K. Valtis is an oncology fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece and moved to the United States to attend Harvard College, where he studied Human Regenerative and Developmental Biology and graduated summa cum laude with a minor in Statistics.12
After college, Valtis worked for two years at the Boston Consulting Group focusing on global health before attending Harvard Medical School, where he graduated cum laude.2 He then completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital.2
During his residency, Valtis developed an interest in hematologic malignancies and caring for young adults with cancer. He is currently a Chief Fellow at the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.2 His research focuses on acute lymphoblastic leukemia, cellular therapy, and adolescent and young adult oncology.23
Valtis is passionate about patient care, healthcare administration, and clinical research. He is curious about healthcare system management, economic incentives in health, and the global health establishment.1
