She earned her Master’s degree in Management, specializing in Financial Engineering from the Dyson School of Design Engineering, where she honed her skills in combining finance with engineering principles—a perfect blend for her career in investment management.
Prior to her Master’s education, Yan obtained her Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Department of Sociology at the London School of Economics (LSE), one of the top academic institutions globally. This education provided her with a solid foundation in economic principles and their social implications, which she applies in her work at GIC.
Her academic journey began at Hwa Chong Institution, where she undertook rigorous studies in Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. This strong analytical and problem-solving foundation contributed significantly to her success in higher education and her professional career in finance.
