Xavier Giro-i-Nieto is an accomplished associate professor at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, with expertise in Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Research, Image Processing, and Computer Vision.

Xavier Giro-i-Nieto is actively engaged in academia and research, serving as an associate editor at IEEE Transactions in Multimedia and contributing as a reviewer for top-tier conferences in machine learning, computer vision, and multimedia. His teaching experience includes designing and delivering courses at prestigious institutions such as the ESEIAAT and ETSETB schools at UPC and the Master in Computer Vision of Barcelona.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Xavier has been involved in various organizations, including the Governance Committee at SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning and the IRI - Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial, CSIC-UPC.
