Before starting MoCaFi in 2016, Coaxum had a successful career in finance, serving as a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase where he held leadership positions in Business Banking, Card Services, and Treasury & Securities Services.1 3 5 He also previously worked at Willis Towers Watson as Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer of Willis North America and Chief Executive Officer of Willis Canada.1 5

Coaxum was inspired to start MoCaFi in 2014 after the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, as a way to address racial inequities and close the wealth gap.2 3 6 Under his leadership, MoCaFi has grown to over 25,000 users, raised millions in seed funding, and partnered with major companies and municipalities.1 2
