Winfried Ruigrok

Winfried Ruigrok is the Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology & Law at the prestigious University of St.Gallen since January 2011, a university ranked 6th in European Business Schools by the Financial Times. He has been a Professor of International Management at the same university since 1996. With a strong background in academia, Winfried has held key positions at University of St.Gallen, including as the founding Academic Director of the MBA program.

Throughout his career, Winfried Ruigrok has contributed significantly to the field of Strategy & International Management, evident through his numerous publications in scholarly and popular outlets. His expertise spans across areas such as Executive Education, International Strategy, Strategic Leadership, Corporate Governance, and Diversity Management. Winfried has received several research and teaching awards, solidifying his reputation in the academic community.

Winfried Ruigrok possesses a robust educational background, having completed his PhD in International Political Economy and MA in International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. He has also pursued studies at the University of St.Gallen, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and academic excellence.

Aside from his current role as Dean, Winfried Ruigrok has a diverse professional history that includes being a Guest Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, a Full Professor at University of St.Gallen, a Research Fellow at University of Warwick, and an Assistant Professor of Strategic and International Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam, among other notable positions. His experience extends beyond academia to roles such as Project Officer at Oxfam Novib, highlighting his engagement in both research and practical applications of his expertise.
