Part of UMG’s Enterprise Architecture team with role of Integration Architect.  The goal of the team is to align the company's business strategic vision with its information technology.To help facilitate UMG’s future EA activities, an enterprise data repository was implemented using the EA Tool Troux 8 (from Troux Technologies).  Troux is used to produce enterprise IT roadmaps that aligns the enterprise business needs with IT strategies and facilitating the identification and elimination of redundant IT spending.  The repository was initially loaded with data such as applications, hardware and deployed software.  This involved identifying data sources and coordinating with a number of different International teams to implement both automated feeds and manual data loads into the core Troux metadata repository.

Enterprise Architect

Management of a team of BizTalk developers. Responsible for the planning, prioritising and coordinating all BizTalk team activities and liaise with other project managers on project progress, resourcing needs and issues.Review and oversee all global BizTalk related solutions implemented within UMG.Define and enforce Release Management process for all BizTalk initiatives within UMG’s evolving SDLC process. Define development standards and controls for SOX compliance.

BizTalk Development Manager

Architect and develop elements of the Service Market.  This is a set of generic and business orientated services, standards and guidelines based on SOA architectural principles for building new applications.  Generic services included Security services, Workflow services, Business Process Management (through use of BizTalk orchestrations), central message broker using Publish Subscribe model (based on BizTalk).  Key member of a Centre Of Excellence for the Service Market which was a collaboration of personnel from 5 global IT departments.

BizTalk Architect for Service Market Initiative

Develop business services through BizTalk orchestrations for a new music repertoire system used for the creation of new Digital and Physical music releases.  The system was a global initiative involving teams from LA, New York and The Netherlands based on a SOA architecture, evolving into the Service Market initiative.Orchestrations were built using BizTalk Server 2006.   UML modelling was done using Enterprise Architect.  Development lifecycle followed Agile RUP methodology.  Architect and implement highly available BizTalk and SQL Server infrastructure.Member of development team building a sales pre-processing system.  Involved in using BizTalk 2006 to automatically pickup sales from all of UMG’s International digital and mobile business partners and bulk load and map data into a central sales pre-processing system developed in .Net and Oracle.

BizTalk Developer

Initially a key developer and later transitioned to primary requirements and analysis role for the development of a generic financial reporting system.  This C# .Net and Oracle browser based system interfaced with global royalty systems to provide automated standard invoice statements to distributors and repertoire owners.  Statements were generated in PDF format via Crystal Reports and automatically emailed.  Interfaces waer created to JD Edwards.Requirements were captured and managed using Rational RequisitePro.  Project followed RUP and used extreme programming techniques.

Requirements/Systems Analyst and .Net Developer

Project Technical Leader on a global music clearance system.  Includes transfer of system from 3rd party and subsequent support and development of browser based system.  System utilised MS ASP, COM objects written in Visual Basic, XMLHTTP and Oracle 9i and made extensive use of PL/SQL.

Techincal Lead

Responsible for enhancements to global sales management reporting system.  This system provided sales reporting and trend analysis of sales information within a Oracle data warehouse.  This system utilised ASP, XMLHTTP and Oracle 9i. Design & developmentment of a number of internal support systems including change control management and timesheet systems.  These systems were developed using Java, JSP, Struts framework, Tomcat application server and Oracle.

Java, ASP and Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Production of business requirement specifications & high-level design specifications for systems to support the international film business of UPI.  Co-ordination of system development with the development team to ensure timely delivery of systems and conformance to requirements.Design & development of a film contract and royalty system.  This system is developed using Centura and Oracle with extensive use of PL/SQL.Devise development and system implementation standards and infrastructure for client server systems.Became Microsoft MCSE accredited.

In the short time as a consultant within the Application Development Services division of BSG, experienced a multitude of roles spanning design and development of client server systems, scoping and techincal analysis though to project lead.Worked for a range of clients including a leading Lloyds underwriter, UK merchant banks and fund management companies, an International Airport Authority, a patent publishing organisation and an education assessment organisation.Techonlogies included Centura SQL Windows, Lotus Notes, Oracle, Sybase and Platinum Accounts

Part of a sucessful development team building 2 core systems for a major European Oil company: a back office Brent Crude Oil settlement system and a large front office Oil Trading system for the buying and selling of many commodities including Crude Oil, Futures and Options.Established user requirements and design a Call Centre marketing system for a large computer manufacturer.  Project leader for the subsequent development, managing and overseeing a team of inexperienced developers.  Responsible for system testing and ensuring software quality levels met the company's ISO9001 quality standards.All systems were developed using Gupta SQLWindows and SQLBase.Installation and subsequent support of a Novell Netware 386 LAN

Analyst Programmer

Now part of Atos Origin.Design and develop PC based DIP systems, storing both text & high quality colour picture images for a number of clients.  Application mainly written using Gupta's SQLWindows & SQLBase.  Additional DLL functions written in Microsoft C, utilising both Microsoft SDK and Kofax Developer's Kit. Pictures provided through the integration of the revolutionary new Fractal Compression Technique by Iterated Systems Inc.  On completion, workshop training sessions given to 3rd party system integrators.Installation and on-going support of a new LAN implementing Novell Netware.  The procurement of required hardware & software, complete installation of file server, client PC's, 3270 mainframe communication. Initial user training.Support and development of mainframe based office communication and MIS systems within an international environment.  Both systems written in COBOL and Philips' own DB/DC handler & DBMS (Y2000). Development of a PC front-end application to the above office communication system via screen-scraping technology.
