Willy Orozco
Willy Orozco is an expert in Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS), a philanthropic program of Microsoft. With a focus on serving students left out of computer science classes due to factors such as geography, gender, and race, Orozco works as South Florida Regional Manager for TEALS. He has helped build sustainable computer science programs in high schools while pairing classroom teachers with industry volunteers and curricula. Orozco has also chaired the Engineering and Computer Science Department at Gulliver Prep in Miami, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Earth Science Education. As a member of the Enabling The Future community, he has 3D-printed prosthetic hands and is a Magic Wheelchair builder.
His approach to education lies in problem-solving skills, interdisciplinary associations, and human interaction. This approach helped him win the 2017 Chamber South Volunteer Appreciation Award. Along with his professional interests, Orozco enjoys spending time with his family, including wife Yvy, son Matteo, and daughter Luna Mia.
