    Willie Buchanon is a former professional American football player who excelled at both college and pro levels. He was a standout athlete at Oceanside High School before becoming a JC All-American in football and baseball at Mira Costa College. At San Diego State, he earned All-American honors before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1972. During his time with the Packers, Buchanon was a dominant defensive back, setting records for interceptions in a game and leading the NFC in interceptions in 1978. He also spent four years with the San Diego Chargers before retiring from professional football.

    Following his football career, Buchanon transitioned into real estate and has been a successful real estate broker for over 25 years, owning and running Buchanon & Associates. He is also the founder of The Buchanon Youth Foundation, focused on serving the youth of America. A community activist, he serves on various boards and committees in California and Wisconsin. Buchanon holds a background in education and social sciences from San Diego State University and business administration from MiraCosta College. He is a family man, married for 29 years, with two children, one of whom followed in his athletic footsteps into the NFL, and four grandchildren.
