William Sellars is the Managing Counsel for Australia at Lightsource bp, a leading company in the development and operation of solar power projects. He joined Lightsource bp in 2015 after working at the international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills. In his role, Sellars provides legal advice across various areas related to the development, acquisition, financing, and restructuring of solar projects, energy storage technology, and smart systems.
His extensive experience includes working on significant transactions across multiple countries, including the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Oman, and Italy. Notably, he has contributed to the financial closure of over 500 MW of projects and has been involved in financing and refinancing projects worth over £500 million in the UK solar sector.12
