    William Jay, known as Willy Jay, is a respected partner at Goodwin, where he leads the Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and co-chairs the Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation Practice.

    With a wealth of experience in appellate law, Mr. Jay has been recognized as the 'Appellate Lawyer of the Year' by Benchmark Litigation for his exceptional work in federal and state appellate courts, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.

    His impressive track record includes over 75 appeals argued, 17 of which were before the Supreme Court, with involvement in briefing over 50 cases on the merits and 150 cases at the certiorari stage.

    Moreover, Mr. Jay has handled a diverse range of cases, including patent appeals in the Federal Circuit, FDA regulatory matters, ERISA and financial services litigation, arbitration, class actions, securities disputes, environmental and campaign finance law, criminal law, and First Amendment issues.

    His educational background comprises a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Harvard Law School, an A.B. in Government from Harvard University, and studies at McDonogh School.

    Prior to his current role, Mr. Jay held positions at esteemed organizations such as the U.S. Department of Justice as Assistant to the Solicitor General, the United States Senate as Special Counsel, and the Supreme Court of the U.S. as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia.

    He also served as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and as a law clerk to Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
