William Geary

William Geary is a data scientist, geographer, and data visualization engineer with a passion for urban mobility. He excels in combining predictive modeling, spatial analysis, and visualization to create innovative analytical solutions and cartographic products. His work has been recognized, and he was named one of the top 50 spatial data scientists to follow in 2019 by CARTO.

William holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Data Science from Columbia University in the City of New York. He also pursued a B.S. in Economics and Philosophy at Duke University and studied Econometrics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Throughout his career, William Geary has worked in various roles and organizations, including being a Data Scientist at Revel, a former Data Scientist & Head of Data Visualization at CitySwift, a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, Geospatial Data Science at the United Nations, a Mobility Researcher at Mapzen, and a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia Engineering. He also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for GIS at Columbia University in the City of New York. Before transitioning into data science and spatial analysis, William gained experience in finance as the Finance & Strategy Lead at Food52 and as an Investment Banking Analyst and Summer Analyst at Merrill Lynch.
