William Finlay is a highly-educated and experienced sociologist with a vast background in both academia and research. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Sociology degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons.), Sociology from the University of Cape Town. As a former Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa and Lecturer at Northwestern University, he has taught and conducted research in several academic settings. Currently, William is a Professor at the University of Georgia.

William Finlay has a particular interest in the sociology of education, race, and ethnicity, with research experience in the intersections between the educational system, social inequality, and racial discrimination. He has published several articles and made presentations in both national and international forums.
