William Coffin
William Coffin has over 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry and nearly a decade of experience in an academic research lab setting. His extensive background includes various responsibilities on a multi-biomarker appendicitis IVD project resulting in initiation and completion of US clinical trials as well as CE marking in Europe. Currently serving as a manufacturing chemist responsible for downstream processes for oligonucleotide pharmaceuticals up to 300 mmol scale at Agilent Technologies Nucleic Acid Solutions Division. Before this, he was a Scientist II and I as well as a Production Associate II at Venaxis, Inc (formerly AspenBio Pharma) where he developed immunoassays for potential biomarker candidates to be used in a second generation appendicitis IVD assay. Formerly, he was also a Research Associate II at GlobeImmune, Inc. and a Professional Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Coffin is highly skilled in immunoassay development and validation, protein and oligonucleotide purification/downstream process development, and molecular and cellular biology techniques.
